ABOUT

Built by someone who lost the drill.

It started with a fourth tape measure. Bought, carried home, and set down next to the three I already owned — all of them suddenly, smugly visible on the shelf.

I tried the spreadsheets. I tried the label makers. They all failed the same way: keeping them up to date was a chore, and chores lose to gravity. The only inventory that survives real life is one you can update while your hands are full of boxes — by talking, or by pointing a camera.

So that’s what I built. One recurring horror of buying things twice, and one rule for every feature: it has to be easier than not doing it.

What I believe

Warm, not clinical
This is your home, not a warehouse. The app should feel like a tidy closet, never a dashboard.
Easier than not doing it
If logging a thing takes longer than putting it down, nobody logs it. Talking and snapping win.
Trust before saving
AI guesses; you decide. Every parsed item is reviewable before it becomes part of your inventory.
The answer is a place
“The garage, somewhere” is not an answer. Room · Area · Spot is.

Yes, about the name.

I needed a domain, findmycr.app was available, and honestly? “Crap” is the correct word for the category. Nobody says “where did I put my belongings.” The name is a joke. The promise — that your stuff stays private, portable, and un-monetized — is not. See the pun clause.
